A great homepage has to do a lot in a very short amount of time: capture attention, spark curiosity, guide the visitor, and keep them scrolling. But what exactly should a homepage include to achieve all that?

Here are the essential elements that every homepage should have:

Your headline is the first thing visitors read, so make it count. It needs to clearly state what you do and who you serve—something that makes your visitors instantly feel like they’re in the right place. Keep it simple, bold, and above the fold.
